'Too many walks, cycle rides, pubs, eating places to cover in one week, so will have to come back.' Andrew and Gaenor, Wales
‘One of the top 10 walks in England’ according to The Times recently, starts and ends in Eastbridge. A circular walk of about 5.5 miles takes you from the cottage over fields, marsh and meadows to the sea, along the shore to the National Trust Coastguard Cottages, then back inland beside the Minsmere Reserve over heathland and through birch forest, and along a willow-lined lane into Eastbridge and home.
Along the way look out for lapwings, swallows, egrets, grey herons, geese and marsh harriers, among many others. In spring listen for the bitterns’ boom across the reeds and admire the Konik ponies grazing on the marshes.
There are many other walks in the area offering a similarly rich variety of habitat. Details at the cottage.
