Recent Improvements

In autumn 2011, we replaced the decking at the rear of Drift End Cottage with a stone and brick terrace, which suits the cottage much better and makes an ideal sitting area. For spring 2012 we will upgrade the garden furniture.

Su continues to work on the garden, adding to the herbaceous borders, planting bulbs and improving the pots.

We have replaced some of the bed linen, always using pure cotton White Company products. Luxury bath sheets are now provided.

We have upgraded the tv, and added a new dvd player and replaced the cd player with a DAB/FM radio/CD player with iPod/iPhone dock.

In January 2012 we installed electric central heating throughout to replace the storage heaters. We are replacing the existing immersion heater with a larger, pressurised one to give more hot water and better flow in the downstairs shower.

Our website has been improved and updated, and includes an availability calendar.

We have always appreciated the freedom of self-catering holidays, but there are times when a few luxuries add to the holiday mood and make more of a change from being at home. We can offer, by arrangement, for a small extra charge:

• Food shopped for your arrival
  

• Cleaning mid-stay if you book for two or more weeks
  

• Supper dishes prepared by Su ready for you to re-heat and add the finishing touches – or a candlelit dinner taken next door chez nous at Long Drift, for special occasions.
  

• Luxury breakfasts taken at our house next door. Treat yourself to a generous home-cooked breakfast, using local produce as far as possible – soft fruits grown by our local farm shop, free range eggs, Suffolk bacon, Orford smoked salmon.... £9.00 pp
